Numerous stakes-winning horses have developed their talents and abilities at Nancy's training stable. Stauback, Bravura, Emriea, Thorny Crown, Robbie's Landing, Ide Rejoice, Willie's Luv, American Freedom, and N B Forrest are among the top horses who have trained there. Nancy's "graduates" have won at Belmont, Aqueduct, Saratoga, Keeneland, Churchill, Turfway Park, Charlestown, River Downs, and Laurel.

Nancy's breaking program starts with 2 to 3 weeks of no rush ground work to ensure good minds and a constructive attitude rather than a rushed, nervous, and unsure juvenile. Nancy believes that plenty of turn-out time and individualized work is essential for strong cannon bones, well-developed muscles, and fewer injuries down the road. All horses will be schooled at the gate on a regular basis.

Nancy accepts horses of all ages for lay-ups or R&R, yearlings for "breaking and starting", and weanlings that can live at the the farm until breaking time. Nancy will also assist and represent prospective purchasers at all sales.

Before leaving Nancy's training stable for their racing career or the next phase of their development; all horses will have had the opportunity to break from the gate, and breeze a two-minute lick on several occasions. Nancy Terhune Training Stable offers a quiet, individualized, empathetic environment which features trail-work to develop confidence and agility, plenty of turn out time in large secure cross-fenced paddocks, large fields for fillies, and on-site owner and trainer residence.
